TRULY AGOG

11 April 2021

In view of the recent death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip last Friday and his funeral next Saturday, I felt it appropriate to have a further two week break on this site. I will be back on Sunday 25th April 2021.

25 April 2021 - THE WEEK THAT WAS AND HOW AN UNDECORATED DOCU MADE A DECORATED COMEBACK.

So, after a four-week break, I'm back and, luckily, still pretty grumpy. Well, maybe not pretty but still grumpy and who should rear his ugly head again but my old favourite DOCU. Presumably he has been on an extended eye-test visiting all the castles in England but his vision is now 20/20 and his vindictiveness can be found in 2021.

I do find myself in a bit of a quandary here because I do not like those people who decide, for whatever reason, to publicly expose and criticise those who they were once in a relationship with, whether working or personal. However, I have always believed that BOJO is a nasty little deceitful man who cons the public most of the time and then just walks on through the mess. Exposing him, not a pretty thought, is, however, a very welcome thing. There is much to come from this little squabble. Handbags at twenty paces I feel, or maybe cardboard boxes.

The other big thing has been the redecoration of the Downing Street flat. My understanding is that it is a public building which any PM can stay in. As such it is rented. As such, when the occupant leaves they should leave it in the same condition it was when they moved in. Will Boris be paying for this or is it one rule for him and another for the rest of us. I feel that once again our dear PM has laid another bad egg. Quite appropriate when you consider Mr Chicken lived in Downing Street before George II offered the house to Sir Robert Walpole in 1832.

Even earlier the man who arrested Guy Fawkes (or maybe the guy who arrested Man Fawkes) had lived there. Weird. The man who tried to blow up our democracy being arrested by the occupant of 10 (or 11) Downing Street. Such is change.
