I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT
I normally update this blog on a Friday night but this week other work precluded that. Also, as you may have noticed, I didn't update last week out of respect for the victims of the outrageous attack in Manchester.
I have just sat down to write this edition at 10.30 pm on Saturday night and it would appear that, once again, some mindless idiots, believing they are fulfilling the will of some imaginary idol, have taken to killing innocent people out to have a good time in their own country on a Saturday night. We do not yet know the full details but it would seem some lives have been lost.
You cannot, as a government, ever be totally capable of stopping these kind of attacks. You can, as we and many others do, use superior intelligence to thwart the dummies and you can, as we and many others do, deal quickly with them if they have stupidly not decided to blow themselves up as well as harm the innocent.
However, without in any way debasing the cruel loss to family and friends of those who have been killed, I think we spend too much time after the attack has taken place, going over and over details and, in effect, far from making these people out as the losers they are, demonstrate that they have had some effect on all our lives.
I am certain that tomorrow, from the blanket coverage on news channels I have seen tonight, that we will repeat pictures and videos, look for eyewitness accounts, analyse ad infinitum with experts and non-experts and, all in all, disrupt what would have been our normal way of life. In my humble view, this could make others who would wish to be complete jerks think that what they do does have a major effect and people, the media, can't stop talking about them.
I may be wrong but that is my feeling. I have decided that in future I am not being disrespectful by continuing as I would have done and, to a degree, ignoring the actions of these perverted apologies for humans and indeed the effects their actions have had. My thoughts are with those who have suffered and my lack of comment and desire to go on in no way mean I do not appreciate the tragic loss of life. But the perpetrators of the violence are pieces of shit, that appear briefly and then, they and their memory, are flushed away down the sewer that they should never have left.

ONE MORE FOR JUNE
Where have I been, you may wonder? Keep wondering, it's none of your business. Too many people need to know too much in this modern world. There are now so many news outlets, TV stations etc, that they all feel duty bound, or possibly profit bound, to tell you every little snippet about anyone they can and, as I said last time, we almost glorify terrorists or idiots who run councils by going and on about their mindless behaviour.
The bit of good news that has happened in the last week is that those young people who came out and supported Jeremy Corbyn in the general election now know that they can make a change by making use of their democratic right. No, he didn't win the most seats but the number he did win, the votes that Labour received, has made a huge difference to how this country is run and make no mistake about that. What is more it will continue to have an effect and I wouldn't be surprised to see a new election within 12 months.
The important thing is that these young people understand that, unlike their everyday lives, things don't happen immediately. It does take time and they need to see the changes that are happening and how those changes have come about from their actions.
Teresa May has clung on to power, in my humble opinion, by using bribery. We now all know, in case some of you didn't, that a conservative government can be made to part with money needed elsewhere when it is desperate. I'm sure the EU negotiators have noted this down. From strong and stable to weak and wobbly to so inept that they need to buy power. I hope all Scottish and Welsh voters remember all this at the next election and also those in the more deprived areas of England.
It is quite possible, of course, that the maybot will not be in power but please don;t think any of the others are any different. A Tory is a Tory is a Tory. Cash handouts to big companies, parties to keep them in power but austerity for everyone else. Equality isn't ever in their minds, if they have one. One between them that is. Let's hope the end comes soon. I think young Clarkson should take a different May and Hammond on his next adventure, preferably a polar walk.
